Perfect Party Face…

Party Face….Perfect Christmas Tips from our guest beauty consultant…Victoria

Right you’ve chosen your party outfit from V &V’s fab A/W 2011 range now the dilemma “What make up to wear ? This season’s collection is full of lovely jewel colours and your make up has to accentuate/ not clash with what you are wearing – blimey, now what?! Luckily AW2011 make up is all about dewy, natural complexions, lovely taupe eyes accompanied with bright red, pink or purple berry lips. Bright blues and burnt oranges are also making a cheeky appearance on eyes with nude lips but these brighter jewel colours can be used on nails for a more mainstream look. Below is my list of essential items to finish off your V & V Christmas look!:

Base

Strobe cream by MAC – used tirelessly on the red carpet and always in my make up kit. Gives winter skin an instant dewy glow! Use under your normal foundation, or over on cheekbones etc to highlight. Trust me, you will be addicted!

Cheeks

Award winning “Shimmer Bricks” by Bobbi Brown particularly in” bronze” or “pink quartz” shades. If your skin is oily and you can’t do a product like strobe cream, then these bronzer/blushers will give radiance over matt/shine free bases.

Now for the fun bit!

Eyes

Warm Party Eye Palette by Bobbi Brown, lovely champagne, copper and ivory shades to warm up winter eyes and make way for strong lips.

Lips

“Violet Tattoo” or “Mystic Mauve” – Diorific fashion lipsticks by Dior. Or try the dramatic lipstick I used in the AW2011 shoot for V & V – “Black Cherry” by Revlon. Our model can vouch for it’s staying power! These shades look great with the Catalla dresses or blouse – very Victoriana!

…… or  MACs pro long lipstick in “true red with the Marje blouse or Tidiana dress.

Nails

I can’t stop looking at Chanel’s new trio of colours they have created to celebrate “Vogue’s Fashion Night Out”. Three denim inspired shades “Blue Rebel” is just meant to wear with V & V’s “Valenti” Tunic in dark grey, the “Sama” Tunic in grey or the Amapola Winter Fleur Blouse teamed with your fav skinny jeans.

If you are after a cheap fix, Barry M always have an array of colours to suit your outfit .They even have some varnishes in emerald, perfect with the New Ophelia Blouse in green.

……….oh and if you can’t decide what to wear from the collection, then just buy everything and invest in  one of the two Holiday 2011 palettes that have just come out by Stila, all the colours in the V & V AW2011 rainbow can be found in these. They look just like a little stained glass window….…… pure heaven!

Happy holidays!

Christmas Day dilemma

What do you wear when you’re left in charge of a giant turkey with all the trimmings and not only that but you have around 14 guests arriving to tuck in…?

It has to look good but not get in the way of the washing up!

Jewel colours are a must have this season and the Winter Fleur dress is a must have. Delicately draped and perfect worn with leggings not only do you look funky but the clever cutting disguises the tummy to cover up the fact that you may have eaten a few too many chocolates!

A perfect way to sparkle on Christmas day and work the look effortlessly with biker boots for day and the Florinnes cardigan layered over and then grab a pair of heels for after dark allure.
