You may have already been sifting through the latest Vogue for a taste of what’s ‘in’ for Spring Summer 2012 there is no need to get into an Olympic spin over it we have all the answers right here…
Looking for that 60’s shift dress, need a rounded collar, want to get that twiggy doll look…..well here we have our Cymbelline dress.
Want a romantic tone on tone white or cream look – wrap yourself up in this season’s Aurora Tunic dress…. worn drop waist with self tie belt for added rock chick appeal.
A ‘Must have’ is this season’s neon bright colour blocking …not to be missed in our Tidiana Waterfall colour block tunic dress in poppy red and bubblegum pink.
Looking for a ‘one off’ vintage print then we have the answer with our beautiful Blue Fleur print derived from an exquisite 1950’s scarf and re-worked into this modern porcelain print.
Have you seen the Elipse hem phenomenon well V&V have recreated the look in the sumptuous Enrapture dress, all gathers and romantic layering, it’ll definitely bring the greek goddess out in you!
Planning on strutting your stuff on the beach, perfect from beach to bar check out our Sama tunic, even Una Healy from the Saturdays loves it and this season we have more gorgeous colours just for you!
Finally if diamonds are your best friend then the Valenti dress is the answer with its diamonte jewel encrusted neckline and pencil skirt charm…perfect for any black tie or wedding event.
A fantastic day , it started, early i went up in the car with our make up artist Victoria and met our photographer Annabelle there with my other half who was on hand for heavy lifting work !
The bright winter sunshine poured in through the windows of the studio and made the set and the props radiate a natural brilliant white, gorgeous against our collection. A perfect fresh backdrop for our clothing.
The model was amazing and brought every garment to life.
Loving the nude lips porcelain rose tinted cheeks and the shocking blue eye shadow thanks to Victoria as seen below….
As the week unfolded it became more and more obvious that we needed to spend Saturday setting everything up!
So in the end it was a two day event…
We went to the studio early Saturday morning and spent all morning there untilo 1pm arranging the set.It was well worth the effort…
I am delighted because our paper lanterns are here – special delivery and you know who you are so huge thank you for that!
They look fantastic…and when you see the end result you will understand!
Next on the list is painting my chinese paper umbrella white. I’ve used acrylic paint which is great as its easy to apply and covers most things but top of the list is it drys quickly so hardly any mess….
My first attempt at screen painting and possibly my last ! it was a good idea whilst it lasted and i know you were all keen to see what we have been up to….
Well as you might imagine after i wrote about Day 6 my feet havent really touched the ground!
DAY 5 has been all about the paper fans…….the larger the better…and what’s all this got to do with a photoshoot…ah well that would be telling wouldn’t it.
If you haven’t done so already…buy yourself a copy of this months’ (February) Vogue or Elle maagzine. Its gorgeous and thoroughly fantastic if you want the low-down on this spring’s must have make up and hair looks. Lets just say we love it here at Valour & Valkyrie.
After much discussion with our in-house make up guru ,Victoria, we have decided that the strong blue eye-shadow for our SS12 Collection is definately the way to go.

We can’t give too much away about our final look for the shoot but what i can say is you will want to know how we achieved it…so keep reading for the inside information on fashion and beauty V&V style!
Today is a busy one already! As you can see from the image our print is like a beautiful ming vase….so i am in love with the idea of using tones of blue…
Having liaised with the photographer already we’ve agreed that we possibly need to prep the shoot location the day before to arrange all the props.
I have a meeting with our amazing make-up artist Victoria this morning to discuss the final look for the model and agree hair etc…
I will report back shortly…
Tonight i will be helping our set team paint and design the set back drop in readiness for the weekend’s shoot.

Its that wonderful and exciting time of year again…finally after alot of preparation we are in the last week before the photoshoot.
The model is booked and primed ready for action.
We have a blue, chinoiserie, colourblocked theme, both romantic and modern at the same time.
We have already painted our wonderful sticks this amazing blue colour…
I have been scouring the local area for a beautiful mirror and might have found it…check our A to Z Furniture in Streatham…
