V&V loves a dash of Lace

As recently reported in Elle, lace continues to trend in a big way through to next Spring. Lace has been a recurrent theme through our last two major collections, with our Catalla lace blouse in black and cream a BIG seller (currently sold out online). We have also juxtaposed lace with tweed in the shape of the Catalla twill and drape dresses. To scared to wear lace full-on? Try a little flash of delicate lace – our Miettes tunic does just the job.

Introducing Miss Ruby Wood…

We are very excited to announce that Ruby Wood, singer with Submotion Orchestra, will be wearing Valour and Valkyrie on her forthcoming UK and European tour! Ruby, who hails from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, perfectly embodies what Valour and Valkyrie stands for: she possesses a youthful spirit which is both playful yet with passion.

Ruby has previously sung with Bonobo and her tour with Submotion Orchestra commences at the end of September in the UK.

You can find out more about Ruby at www.submotion.co.uk and www.ruby-wood.co.uk

LFW metallics and sequins

As LFW draws to a close, we ask what have been your personal favourites?
Meadham Kirchhoff is one of ours as it drew particular attention to sequins and metallics which feature heavily in our current AW collection. It looks like the trend is set to stay for SS’13 but in the meantime our Metallic Cowl dress will soon be available as a Winter/Christmas special.

Our A/W staples cherry-picked for this weeks Edited Pieces

A/W cherrypicked just for you:
As London Fashion Week is on the horizon we have handpicked some of our edgier and most loved staples. Shown is the Florrines cardigan worn with the trans-seasonal favourite Harley trousers. Next up, our Warrior dress – the Queen of our Boadiccea collection. These pieces form the heart of our collection and can be mixed and matched with the other collection staples. Add some fierce accessories and march onwards towards LFW.

Tartan Trending for A/W 2012

The tartan print has been around forever, from its ancestral Scottish roots, through to 1950’s vintage, Vivienne Westwood’s ’80’s punk and Henry Holland’s cheerful and cheeky play on the androgynous style of fabric that we see today. Tartan was everywhere on the catwalks for this season with revivals by Marc Jacobs and Jil Sander alike. To keep on-trend for A/W, wear bold check blocks in a tailored style while mixing with newer trend such as the peplum skirt or jacket. Our Tulip peplum jacket nails BOTH of those trends. Alternatively you can add the demure Tulip Skirt to a colour block top or punk it out wearing head to toe tartan in both! Feels like it’s 1979 on the King’s Road all over again…

The Colour Purple.

If Vogue declares a trend for Autumn/Winter 2012/13, then a trend it is.
The Colour is Purple.
Purple embodies riches and luxury, deity, dazzling jewels. It conjures up the magical and the mystical. It is the colour of the season and it suits every complexion, from Snow Whites to Ebony Princesses.
